The 2007 F1 season saw an end to Alonso and Renault’s dominance in 2005 & 2006, and a new star emerged in Lewis Hamilton, who took the title fight all the way to the last race in Brazil along with Alonso and Räikkönen. It was the Finnish driver who would go on a late charge and take the championship in Brazil, however.

The 2007 season also saw the debut of future World Champion and F1 legend Sebastian Vettel, who made his debut for BMW Sauber to replace the injured Kubica. The German then replaced Scott Speed at Toro Rosso for the remainder of the 2007 season.
