Mercedes lead the 2026 Constructors Championship with 556 points. The Constructors title is awarded to the team whose two drivers accumulate the most points across all rounds. Unlike the Drivers Championship, there is no drop-round system — every point from every race counts. A double points finish can swing the standings by up to 43 points in a single race weekend.
Points are awarded to the top ten finishers in every Grand Prix: 25–18–15–12–10–8–6–4–2–1. Both drivers score independently and their totals are summed for the constructor. Sprint races add a separate points allocation of 8–7–6–5–4–3–2–1 for the top eight. Engine suppliers — Mercedes, Ferrari, Honda, and Renault — supply power units to multiple teams, meaning a title challenge can span several constructors sharing the same powertrain technology.

The 2026 Formula 1 grid features 11 constructors, each running two cars across all rounds. Cadillac joined as an 11th constructor in 2026, marking the first new team entry since Haas in 2016.
What is the difference between drivers and constructors standings?
The Drivers Championship ranks individual drivers by their personal points tally. The Constructors Championship sums the points of both drivers on a team — so a constructor can lead even if neither driver leads the individual standings.
